Ama Dablam is a popular mountain in east Nepal, standing tall with an elevation of 6,812 meters. The mountain was named in the Sherpa language “Ama Dablam” which directly translates to ‘Mother’s necklace’. The reason it was named so is because of the long ridges on each side of the mountain and the glacier in the middle which resembled the traditional necklace worn by sherpa women ‘Dablam’.
