• Activity Nepal Peak Climbing
  • Duration 14 Days

In the heart of the Himalayas, near the Tibetan border lies the spectacular mountain peak, Nirekha. It lies right between Cho-yu and Everest in the Mahalangur Region. Nirekha peak was made accessible only in 2005. Although the peak does require major mountaineering equipment, the climb itself is rather simple compared to other peaks. Anyone in decent physical condition who is looking for a high-adventure trek can consider climbing it. Having said that, this route should only be attempted by experienced climbers. The standard trek to the Nirekha Peak is amazing yet a bit challenging. Similarly, the difficulty level of climbing this peak highly depends on the weather.

There are two ways to reach Nirekha Peak

  • From Kanchung Base Camp
  • Lake Base Camp

However, the ascent from the Kanchung side is recommended because it is simpler and shorter. Unlike the Lake Base Camp, the glacier to the Cho-La Col on the Kanchung side is straightforward. The majority of the ascent from Kanchung side is made of ice and snow, similar to major alpine routes like the Monch or Bernina. This peak climbing necessitates exceptional fitness and acclimatization. Although fairly complicated, Nirekha Peak climbing offers some of the nicest scenery in the world from the top. You’ll have the best view of numerous high mountains, including Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse, Mount Cho-yu, and other nearby Himalayan ranges, from the summit.
