Mount Kailash Overland Tour

In close proximity to Lake Manasarovar and Lake, Rakshastaal is Mount Kailash, a mountain that is believed to be the residence of the Hindu deity Shiva. As per the Sanskrit epics of ancient India, ‘Mahabharata’, the Pandava brothers, and their wife Draupadi is claimed to have walked to the top of Mount Kailash, which is said to be a portal to Heaven, also known as Swarga Loka, on their journey to liberation. Nearby this mountain is the origins of four significant Asian rivers, the Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali (a tributary of the Ganges). In addition, Mount Kailash is considered sacred among the different religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon. Travelers on the Tibet Kailash Tour will daily come across new cultural landmarks.

More about Mount Kailash Trek

Occasionally, one can see the views of the breathtakingly gorgeous countryside with holy glimpses of Mt. Kailash and many other nearby mountains. Additionally, the Mt. Kailash Tour includes three days of holy KORA as well as exploring trips to Manasarovar Lake and Rakshastaal. The word “kora” is a translation of the Tibetan word for revolution or circumambulation. A Kora is a ritualistic circumambulation that the performer does around a sacred place or item, usually as part of a pilgrimage, ceremony, celebration, or ritual. In a larger sense, the phrase is frequently used to describe the entire pilgrimage process in the Tibetan highlands. It takes three days to go overland from Nepal to Lake Manasarovar and Mount Kailash via the broad valley between the Himalayan and Gandise ranges in Tibet Plateau. In order to complete the Kora of Mount Kailash, which takes more than three days, we prefer trekking. We return to Nepal taking the same route we took before the Kora journey. Mount Kailash has an elevation is 6,714 meters (22,028 ft). It is located in the western region of the Tibetan Plateau, in the Kailash Range in Trans-Himalaya.
