I have just come back from the wild and less commercialized Mardi Himal Trek organized by Nepal Trekkers. My guide Ramesh was very attentive and patient. He was always going out his way to make sure I was safe and comfortable. The trek was not particularly difficult except the stretch from High Camp (3540m) to View Point (4200M). The hike to View Point for sunrise started at 4am. Unlike other trekkers who rushed into the dark, Ramesh checked my gear and ensure I put on wind jacket and pants, ordered noodle soup and masala tea for early breakfast and filled up my tumbler with hot water before we started the two hours ascent. These turned up to be a great comfort as the hike was extremely cold and windy that morning. He and the porter were humble, kind, humor and not loud type of people. I particularly like the warm and pleasant way they interacted with villagers, tea-house operators and trekkers we met along the way.
